My 2020 Projects Girl Scout Gold Award - Aug 2019 The Girl Scout Gold Star Award is a community service project where girl scouts start by solving an issue in their community, involve multiple steps of planning, budgeting ad volunteering. I chose to help my community by providing music to underserved areas with not enough funding in the arts. Starting in December to have my project approved, I began my music workshops in February. I worked with my school, an elementary school, my local library, and the community center in Oak Cliff. In the workshops, I taught children how to create their own instruments used recycled materials, learn basic concepts of the physics behind the music, and identify different instruments and their sounds using the physics terms they learned. It was a fun learning experience in creating a big project that positively impacts my community, and I am glad I finished it despite the pandemic.  Recycling Inspiration      A few months ago, I found a post for a digital media conference called Black Girls in Media | Digital Conference 2.0 . It was amazing. The event held sessions on digital media, starting your business, and freelancing. I enjoyed the networking, the advice, and concrete examples for resources. They both believed in themselves and took on their dreams. Ms. Monee created a name for herself and created her own experiences when there was not a lot available in the area. She one of the few YouTube college vloggers for PV . She was the Editor-in-Chief of the newspaper and the host of her radio show The Downtown Tea . Because of her experiences with campus events, she could land a job with Rickey Smiley, Blativity, and Radio One . In Hewlitt's past, she was bossed around and undervalued by her boss, so ...

My goals     I n the fifth grade, we were assigned to write a short story on anything we wanted. I loved Percy Jackson and still do, so I wanted to write something with action for pre-teens like me. I also really loved Spy Kids, so I wrote my story about spy kids but with a twist. When I read my story aloud, my classmates laughed at my jokes and my teacher liked that I put a lot of effort into my work by writing more than required. The feeling of making someone else happy by the work I did was rewarding and it made me want to do more. I want to continue making people happy and enjoy art or fictional stories. My goal is to work in the entertainment industry and use my knowledge in computer science to work in different areas of my interests like music, dance, films, or writing but also protect people in cybersecurity to help those vulnerable online.  Adobe         Autodesk         Goldman Sachs      ...

Who Am I and why this blog?  M y name is Tori Watson and I am a freshman majoring in computer science at Prairie View A&M University . For my blog, I will post updates on my achievements, projects, and interests. The blog will be a visual representation of my resume and what I have been learning. Computer science allows me to enjoy problem-solving, so my favorite classes are computer science 1 and web design. Receiving a problem, creating a solution, and seeing the result of my work is fulfilling! I hope to learn as much as I can to make a career out of what I love. This blog will help me stay on track with achieving my goals to help others and give back to my community that raised me. “Like what you do, and then you will do your best.” – Katherine Johnson Beau Bumpas Photography
