Girl Scout Gold Award - Aug 2019
The Girl Scout Gold Star Award is a community service project where girl scouts start by solving an issue in their community, involve multiple steps of planning, budgeting ad volunteering. I chose to help my community by providing music to underserved areas with not enough funding in the arts. Starting in December to have my project approved, I began my music workshops in February. I worked with my school, an elementary school, my local library, and the community center in Oak Cliff. In the workshops, I taught children how to create their own instruments used recycled materials, learn basic concepts of the physics behind the music, and identify different instruments and their sounds using the physics terms they learned. It was a fun learning experience in creating a big project that positively impacts my community, and I am glad I finished it despite the pandemic.

Girl Scout Silver Star Award - May 2017
The Silver Star Award is a community service project that girl scouts in their freshman or sophomore year complete with 50 or more hours. My project centered around music appreciation. Many underserved communities neglect the importance of music, so I set up workshops in my community to teach elementary and junior high students how music is found in all subjects of school. I also showed a diverse list of musicians so that all students can relate, feel included and inspired by music.
